Planning for symbolic still-life project

Describe briefly your plan for The Symbolic Still Life project. Explain what kinds of objects you think you will use and why...how do they relate to some aspect of your theme. How will you arrange them and why? What materials will you use for this project and how big will you be working and why?

Don't forget...in addition to writing here on your blog make three thumbnail sketches in your SB to plan the composition of the work

I will use objects i have found around my house and in my forest.
I have collected pine cones, a glass bottle, a branch, a felt red robin and bark.
I decided to use these objects because the forest around my house is really important to me. It somewhat defines my house and it is the first thing I think of when I think of my house.

Obviously these object relate to my forest and trees and such. I have arranged them in a way that I think looks really cool.

I will use oil pastels because I think I can create a really cool texture and mixture of smooth and texturey loook.

planning for opposites

Describe briefly what you plan to do for the Opposites project. Be sure to describe your intentions, how your concept relates to your theme, and technically how you plan to create the work.

I plan to have 2 juxtaposed pictures of trees with words surrounding them.

One will have a tree created from natural resources like leaves, bark, and grass. This will be surrounded by words like "pollution, gas, CO2."

One will have a tree created from man-made objects like cell phones, computers, and ipods. This will be surrounded by words like "leaves, grass, and bark."

My intentions are to create an image through words comparing man-made objects and natural resources. I think the words will help put into perspective how humans don't pay attention to nature as much as they should, and they don't consider the effect pollution and hazardous waste will have on the environment.

I will use paper, glue and magazine cutouts.

Thematic Portfolio #2: Images From Images Project

Write a short reflection about how the work turned out. What do you think are the successful aspects of your work?

I thought overall my Images from Images project was successful.
I used an array of materials: paper, spices, charcoal, paint, sharpie and oil pastels.

I think all 3 of my projects had a good sense of creativity and thinking outside of the box. I think I could have done more with blowing up my 2 note cards to create a bigger image of the same image.
